The French Crop Fade Styling Guide You Need Right Now

M2 recently took its shaggiest guys for a spruce up at BarberShopCo. The end results were sharp and on point. So we quizzed the barbers behind the looks to get the inside line on how to pick a good look, and the products we need to maintain them.

This look was provided to us by Matias, who gave Jordan a French crop with a skin fade. It’s a relaxed, chilled out style, perfect for anyone who doesn’t have time for a lot of maintenance. If you have a receding hairline, or have thin or thinning hair, this is a good choice to go for. A skin fade on the sides should blend into your head, with the longer hair on top being cut vertically to incorporate texture and contrast against the opposing fade.

After the barber has done their job, it’s up to you whether you want to let your fringe hang naturally or have it flicked to the side. To keep everything tamed and styled, Matias used The Bowery’s Holdfast, which is perfect for texturising the hair and giving it a matte finish for a natural and informal look. This is appropriate whether your crop top fade is short or long.

If you’re after an easy and chilled out new style, find your local BarberShopCo here.
